Installation on Android

These steps assume a standard Android phone with APK sideloading allowed.

Prepare the device

  • Android 5.0 or newer (confirm in Settings → About phone)
  • Stable Wi‑Fi for download and backup
  • At least 500 MB free space beyond the APK size

Install and verify

  1. Download from the download page.
  2. Open the APK and approve the installing app if prompted.
  3. Launch GB WhatsApp Pro and enter your phone number.
  4. Enter the SMS verification code when it arrives.
  5. Restore backup if you exported chats earlier.

Play Protect and OEM warnings

Android may warn about unknown apps even for legitimate sideloads. Read the full dialog; “Install anyway” is your choice after reviewing source trust. Samsung and Xiaomi may add extra scans—wait for them to finish.

First-run checklist

  • Confirm notification permission
  • Allow contacts if you want to find friends
  • Set media auto-download on Wi‑Fi only if data is limited
  • Open Settings → GB Settings and note your version string
