Backups are your safety net whenever you sideload APKs.

Local and cloud backups

Use in-app backup to Google Drive or local storage if your build supports it. Note the timestamp and file size after completion.

Before destructive steps

Never uninstall because of an error until you confirm the backup opens on the same or another device.

Google Drive vs local backup

Cloud backups depend on the Google account signed into the phone. Local backups may live under internal storage paths that uninstallers delete—copy important .db files to a PC when migrating between APK lines.

• Note backup time and size after each run
• Avoid starting a backup on mobile data if media is large
• Disable battery saver during long backup jobs

Before switching APK sources

Backups from one mod line may not restore on another. If you change publishers, plan for partial chat loss and export important threads manually.
