Install Without Uninstalling

Some APKs use a different package name so they can sit beside official WhatsApp. This is not universal.

When dual install is possible

If the mod publisher documents a separate package, Android may show two icons. You still manage two accounts and two backup paths—do not mix them.

When you must replace the official app

If Android reports a signature conflict, you cannot install over official WhatsApp. Back up, then decide whether to migrate or stay on the official client.

Dual installs use different package names. Notifications, badges, and default share targets may only attach to one app—pick which client you want for daily use.

Verification on two apps

One phone number typically registers on one WhatsApp client at a time. Dual-app marketing does not always mean two active numbers on one SIM—read your APK publisher notes carefully.
