Update Failed
Failed updates are common when package signatures or version codes conflict.
First response
- Confirm backup completed successfully
- Re-download the APK on Wi‑Fi
- Check Android version compatibility
- Compare file size with the download page
Before uninstalling
Uninstall only if support docs require it and your backup is verified. See restore chats afterward.
Signature mismatch errors
“App not installed” after an update often means the new APK was signed by a different key. You cannot upgrade in place—you must backup, uninstall, and install the new package, then restore.
Storage and cache during failed installs
Failed installs sometimes leave partial packages. Clear the Downloads folder, reboot, and ensure at least 1 GB free before retrying.
