Not Installing
What is happening?
Android shows “App not installed”, “Parse error”, or the install button disappears without finishing.
Why this might happen
- Insufficient storage
- Corrupted or incomplete APK download
- Android version below minimum
- Play Protect or OEM security block
- Package conflict with existing WhatsApp install
What to check first
- Free at least 1 GB storage
- Re-download on Wi‑Fi from download
- Confirm Android 5.0+ in system settings
- Read the full Play Protect message before allowing install
How to fix it
- Clear Downloads and fetch the APK again.
- Enable install permission for the browser or Files app you used.
- If signature conflict appears, read dual install guide.
- Reboot and retry once before trying another APK source.
If the problem continues
Follow Android installation from the top. If every APK fails, test with official WhatsApp to rule out device storage faults.
Manufacturer-specific blocks
Huawei, Honor, and some enterprise devices restrict unknown sources further. Install from Files app after granting permission to that app specifically, not only the browser.
When to stop retrying random APKs
If three verified downloads fail the same way, capture the exact error text and Android version before trying unrelated mirrors—see fake APK guidance.
